Oakley Farm Museum, 189 Wemrock Rd, Freehold, NJ 07728, USA
About the event
Using the same easy twining method, participants will learn how to control the weave. Each participant’s basket shape and weaving design will be unique.
We will supply the basket reed in its natural color which will be used for most of the basket.
There will also be some dyed reed and yarn supplied for you to use for a stripe of color here and there. Flat reed will be supplied for you to weave in if you wish. Then, when the basket dries at home, you can draw with colored pencils or permanent markers on the flat reed spaces that show on the outside.
You can bring some vines (no poison ivy!) or other natural materials, your favorite yarn, ribbon, etc. to weave into your basket. Feel free to experiment!
Cost: $10 a basket Payment must be completed before your seat is reserved. Please email ftheritagesociety@gmail.com with your name…
