Graphophone
A Graphophone was a business dictation machine that used wax cylinders to record and play back sound. The graphophone was invented at the Alexander Graham Bell's Volta Lab in Washington, D.C. Unlike, Thomas Edison's Phonograph, which used tinfoil and sheets and vertically cut grooves, the Graphophone used wax cylinders (better sound fidelity and longevity) and a lateral zig zag pattern.
circa 1890.
Donated by the Perento Family.
